Positives: Athletic and explosive linebacker with the ability to make plays in every direction of the field. Displays a good combination of speed and quickness, flows well to the action and has a burst to the ballcarrier. Breaks down well, actively uses his hands and displays the ability to get off blocks. Does a nice job reading the action and diagnosing plays. Smooth turning his hips to transition with opponents in coverage and quick pedaling in reverse. Outstanding in pursuit and displays a burst of speed bearing down on the ballcarrier. Gives effort tackling and wraps up opponents at the point of attack.

Negatives: Gets caught up in the trash moving laterally. Overmatched by larger tight ends in coverage.

Analysis: Spence is a somewhat undersized linebacker who stands out on film with his ability to make plays sideline to sideline. He's a potential weak side starter in the proper system at the next level.
